Find Out Now have conducted a survey on Scottish independence on behalf of The National, finding 52% ‘Yes’, 41% ‘No’ and 7% ‘Don’t know’.

Survey info

Find Out Now interviewed a sample of 1,417 respondents between the 7th and 11th April 2025, weighted to be representative of Scotland by: Gender, Age, Region, and GE2024, with headline Scottish independence results adjusted for turnout. Find Out Now is a member of the British Polling Council and abides by its rules.

Methodology

  • We ask respondents “If another Scottish independence referendum was held tomorrow, how likely would you be to vote?
  • This is followed by “If another Scottish independence referendum was held tomorrow, with the question “Should Scotland be an independent country?”, how would you vote?” [note: same wording as 2014 referendum]
  • The headline figures only include respondents who expressed a likelihood to vote of 7 or above. This would be equivalent to a 78% turnout
  • The final sample is filtered and weighted (more details here) to be nationally representative of Scotland by Gender, Age, Region, and 2024 General Election vote
