Scotland voting intention
The SNP are very close to gaining a majority of seats in the Scottish Parliament, with Reform UK and the Greens in a tight race for second place
Turnout adjusted, squeeze question used, Greens voters reprompted if no Green candidate in their constituency. Find Out Now interviewed a sample of 2,001 Scottish adults on 1st to 6th May which is nationally representative by: Gender, Age, Scottish region and 2024 General Election
Our methodology:
- We ask respondents how likely they are to vote in the Scottish Parliament election on 7th May. For those who give a 7 or above, we then ask their vote choice
- If a respondent answers ‘Don’t know’ they see an additional question, prompting them again to give an answer. If they then give a valid vote choice they are included in the final calculation, but if they answer ‘Don’t know’ again (or ‘Would not vote’) they are excluded from the final headline calculation
- For those who selected Green for their constituency vote, but don’t have a Green candidate in their constituency, we used their answers from a follow-up question: Although the Scottish Greens are standing in all 8 regional lists, they are only standing candidates in 6 of Scotland’s 73 constituencies. If they were not standing in your constituency, how would you use your constituency vote?
- The final sample is filtered and weighted to be nationally representative by Gender, Age, Region, Ethnicity and 2024 General Election vote
